Police seized Rs 25 lakh duplicate notes

Hyderabad: Special Operation Team (SOT) Maheshwaram arrested four interstate fraudsters and seized fake notes worth Rs 25 lakh from their possession.

The accused, hailing from Maharashtra, had come to the city in a car bearing number MH-01-AV-5623, and were arrested at Erakunta intersection in Balapur on Wednesday.
Balapur police said that during interrogation the accused confessed that they had come under the pretext of duping innocent people by promising to provide them three times the amount in the form of fake currency notes under the guise of exchanging the original currency notes.
The accused have been identified as Sheikh Haroon (40), Syed Sagir (30), Zakar Syed (35) and Ali Aftab Akhtar (36), all natives of Maharashtra.
