Possibility of cyclone formation over Bay of Bengal
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that a cyclonic storm is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal around November 29.
“A low pressure area formed over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Malacca Strait at 0830 IST today. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 29, the IMD said.
“Subsequently, the system is likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm over southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours,” the agency further said.
