Priyanka Chopra Jonas wishes Malala a happy birthday
New Delhi (IANS). Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas wished Nobel Peace Prize winner, Pakistani global education activist and Hollywood producer Malala Yousafzai on her 26th birthday.
Priyanka shared an old smiling picture with Malala on Instagram Stories and wrote, “Happy Birthday Malala! Blessings to you always!” Along with this used pink heart emoji.
Malala replied to Priyanka’s post with a blush face emoji.
The young activist also penned a long note recalling her first speech at the United Nations.
“Today I am celebrating my birthday with the girls in Nigeria, a tradition I started 10 years ago. Since my first speech at the United Nations after surviving the shooting, I finished high school and graduated from university. Graduated.”
Malala wrote, “I founded the Malala Fund and I have traveled to 31 countries and met people who are fighting to improve girls’ access to education.”
She continued, “We’ve seen achievements and failures, but we keep fighting. At 16, I couldn’t imagine what the next decade would hold – for me or for girls like me. But I was hopeful because I’ve seen the world wake up to the injustices we face.”
Malala said, “Today I can see the future more clearly – because I have met the leaders of our future. Girls and young women like this photo understand the power of education.
