Professor molested 500 girl students, victims wrote a letter to PM Modi

Sirsa. About 500 girl students of Chaudhary Devi Lal University in Sirsa, Haryana have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, accusing a professor there of sexual harassment. They demanded his suspension and an investigation led by a retired High Court judge. Copies of the letter have also been sent to Vice Chancellor Ajmer Singh Malik, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, State Home Minister Anil Vij and National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma, among others.

In the letter, the professor has been accused of “dirty and obscene acts”. He is accused of calling the girls to his office, taking them to the bathroom and “touching their private parts and doing obscene acts with us”. The girls said that when they protested, they were threatened with ‘very bad’ consequences. The letter claims that this has been going on “for several months”. University Registrar Rajesh Kumar Bansal has confirmed receiving the anonymous letter.

According to NDTV.com, University Registrar Dr. Rajesh Kumar Bansal said that the police is investigating the matter. He said, “The university has its own committee which is investigating the allegations. This is a serious allegation. There is no name on the letter but we will investigate it.”

Let us tell you that in the month of November last year, a similar case had come to light in a school in Haryana. 142 minor girl students of a government school in Jint had accused the principal of sexual harassment. The students had alleged that the principal sexually harassed them for six years. In this case, statements of 390 girl students were recorded and complaints were registered in 142 cases. The principal was arrested in this case.
