To run a campaign against illegal drug dealers in the district, SP had received instructions to trace the drug dealers and take action against them, in compliance with which Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Abhishek Jha (R.P.S.), Additional Superintendent of Police (ACCU) under the guidance of Anurag Jha (R.P.S.), City Superintendent of Police (Durg) Mani Shankar Chandra and under the leadership of Anti Crime Cyber Unit in-charge Inspector Naresh Patel, Police Station Incharge Durg Mahesh Dhruv. . And a joint team of Durg police station was formed and deployed for action.
The team was continuously keeping an eye on the drug dealers and special sources were also deployed. Former drug dealers released from jail were being monitored. Meanwhile, the ACCU team came to know from special sources that near Indira Nagar Baghera Shulabh, a person is looking for a customer to sell intoxicating drugs.
On receiving the information, the team cordoned off the area around Indira Nagar Baghera Shulabh and arrested Rohit alias Shubham Yadav was caught. 450 pieces of psychoactive drugs (Alphazolam tablets) worth more than commercial quantity, about Rs 6500/- and cash amount of Rs 2100/- were recovered from the luggage of the accused. Crime number 727/2023, Section 8,22,27 (a) of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused in Police Station Durg and is being presented in the Honorable Court.
