Maharashtra: A massive fire broke out at a firecracker shop in the Kalewadi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad city, sending huge flames surging. Reports indicate that the fire broke out one after another, causing loud explosions and creating panic in the area. Due to the presence of shops and a hospital near the scene, fire tenders rushed to douse the flames and are trying to control the fire.
DCP Vishal Gaikwad (Zone 2, Pimpri Chinchwad) said, “The fire occurred near Tapkir Chowk, within the jurisdiction of the Rahatni police station. No casualties have been reported yet. Prima facie, the firecracker shop had the necessary legal permissions, and we are investigating the cause of the fire.” Videos of the incident are surfacing on social media platforms.
Recently, a fire broke out during a victory procession in Jejuri city of Pune district on Sunday. It is reported that the fire started when camphor from a bhandara fell on burning camphor. The sudden fire spread panic in the area.
