Pune: Suspicious of her character, a man killed his wife with an axe
Pune: At around 6.30 am on Tuesday morning in Pune’s Warje, a man brutally murdered his wife by crushing her head with an axe.
The victim, identified as Uma alias Papuja Lakhan Kamble (25), was attacked by her husband Lakhan Kamble (28), who has been arrested by the police.
Originally from Kalamb taluka of Dharashiv district, the couple had moved to Pune for work and were earning a living by doing odd jobs. The accused, who is currently unemployed, reportedly had doubts about Uma’s character, which led to frequent altercations between them.
The couple had a dispute again on Tuesday morning. Enraged, Lakhan picked up an ax and attacked Uma, causing fatal injuries.
Local people informed the police about this gruesome incident. Police reached the spot and arrested the accused. Uma’s lifeless body was sent to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem. The police have started the process of registering a case in this tragic case.
