Punjab: Car caught fire due to fault in heater, owner narrowly escaped
Punjab: A car was completely gutted in a fire caused by a faulty heater, but the car owner escaped unhurt. The incident took place when the car was on its way from Rajanwali village to Sri Ganganagar. Bhanu Pratap Singh of Sri Ganganagar said that his brother Sandeep had gone to Bathinda for work the previous day. After staying at a friend’s house in Rajanwali, he was returning home to Sri Ganganagar late at night. When he reached near Sherewala village, Sandeep felt a burning sensation in the car as the heater was running for a long time. He immediately got out of the car and soon after heard a loud sound like firecrackers. Within a few seconds the car was engulfed in flames and reduced to ashes. Sandeep somehow managed to escape without any injury.
