Punjab: Former MP Avinash Rai Khanna wrote a letter to Nadda and Human Rights Commission

Punjab: Former Rajya Sabha MP Avinash Rai Khanna has expressed serious concern over 52 medicines, including paracetamol, failing the quality test conducted by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). In a letter to the National Human Rights Commission and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda, he expressed disappointment over the lack of quality control by pharmaceutical companies and called it a direct threat to public health.

Khanna stressed that compromising on the quality of medicines is unacceptable as it poses a direct threat to the health of citizens. He said every person has a fundamental right to receive safe and standard healthcare and the negligence shown by pharmaceutical companies is a gross violation of those rights. Demanding strict action against the companies responsible for manufacturing substandard medicines, he urged that strict guidelines be issued to all pharmaceutical companies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
