Punjab: Four including a woman arrested in drug case

Punjab: Four persons including a woman have been arrested in separate cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The patrolling team of Chabbewal police station stopped a car on suspicion and recovered 21 grams of heroin from it. Three persons travelling in the car were arrested. They have been identified as Viren Rai, resident of Rakkad Colony Una, Pankaj Puri, resident of Masit Wali Gali Una and Gurpreet Singh alias Raju, resident of Nonitpur. The police have seized the car. A case has been registered in this regard. In another case, Tanda police stopped a woman at a check post and recovered a huge quantity of banned pills from her. The suspect has been identified as Reena, resident of Ward No. 8, Tanda. Meanwhile, the police of City police station recovered 15 cartons of liquor hidden in a well based on information. Mahender Singh Dolike, a resident of Sunderpur, Jalandhar, who is allegedly a smuggler, has been arrested in this case.
