Punjab: Jobs for families of 30 farmers killed during protests

Punjab: Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian on Friday distributed appointment letters to the kin of 30 farmers who lost their lives during protests against farm laws. Of these, 25 will work as clerks, while five will work as sevadars in the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department. Besides, appointment letters were also handed over to eight more youths, including two veterinary inspectors and four clerks. Three clerks have been appointed in the Animal Husbandry Department on compassionate grounds, while two stenographers have been appointed in the Dairy Development Department. Director (Agriculture) Jaswant Singh, Director (Animal Husbandry) Dr Gursharanjit Singh Bedi, Director (Dairy Development) Kuldeep Singh and other officers were also present on the occasion.
