Punjab: Navjot Singh Sidhu Announces Property Division
Punjab: Former cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has announced that he is dividing his assets between his son and daughter. In an emotional social media post, Sidhu stated that, following extensive discussions with his wife, Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, he has decided to distribute his property during his own lifetime. Under this arrangement, his son, Karan Sidhu, will inherit the ancestral home located in Yadavindra Colony, near Baradari Gardens in Patiala. His daughter, Rabia Sidhu, will receive the house in Amritsar—a residence that Sidhu built himself. Sharing photographs with his family, Sidhu spoke of his faith in God and his commitment to the “vachan” (promise) he had made to the people of Amritsar. The post shared by Sidhu also reflects his pride in the fact that everything he has achieved and earned was acquired solely through his own hard work, with “nothing whatsoever” derived from politics.
“That house—which I built with the blessings of Goddess Parvati to honor a ‘vachan’ I had made to the people of Amritsar—was a response to those who claimed that, after the elections, I would become a ‘migratory bird’ (one who flies away elsewhere). I had assured them, however, that I would remain right here… Even after completing two terms as an MP, that promise remained unfulfilled… Then, on a day during Navratri, the Goddess signaled to me to step out and embark on something new… From Bigg Boss to Hindi commentary with Star TV, and subsequently The Kapil Sharma Show—I began this journey in 2012 and, by Her grace, brought it to completion in May 2014… Not a single penny from politics; it was earned entirely through my own hard work. Karan will inherit the ancestral home built by my father, while the house in Amritsar will go to Rabia!” Sidhu wrote in his Facebook post.
