Punjab News: Congress won by 1.7 lakh votes in Jalandhar
Punjab. Punjab: When the Congress-led municipal corporation was formed in Jalandhar in 2017, the Congress had 65 councillors. Everything was fine for the party till 2022, but everything changed after AAP came to power in Punjab. About 55 party councillors left the Congress and barely 10 councillors remained with the party, while others switched sides. Also, the results of last year’s by-elections also confirmed almost the same, when AAP MP Sushil Kumar Rinku was elected. But Channi’s constant contact and presence with the press/media proved to be a big inspiration for him. Congress candidate and former CM Charanjit Singh Channi won by a huge margin of over 1.7 lakh in Jalandhar. Channi got a total of 3,90,053 votes.
