Punjab News: Two arrested with heroin
City police arrested two people in separate incidents and seized 330 grams of heroin.
The accused have been identified as Sikandar Singh of Gumanpura village and Rohit Singh (alias Limka) of Preet Nagar, Bharariwal here.
Sikandar Singh was arrested by CIA Personal-2 with 120 grams of heroin. Police officials said that the police stopped him while patrolling at the railway crossing of Gumanpura.
He was produced before the tribunal and kept in police preventive jail for three days to be interrogated for further investigation and to trace the origin of the contraband. Earlier, Moga police had arrested him for a similar crime in 2021.
In another incident, Annagarh outpost police on Tuesday caught Rohit Singh with 210 grams of heroin. The police were investigating his background and the origin of the drug. Police have registered separate cases against them under the NDPS Act and are investigating further.
