Punjab: Three arrested in Faridkot murder case
Punjab: Faridkot police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a Behbal Kalan Insaaf Morcha member. Gurpreet Singh of Hari Nau village here was shot dead by four bike-borne assailants on October 9.
One of the three assailants has been identified as Army jawan Bilal Ahmad. He was earlier arrested in an extortion case. After nearly 40 days, he was released from Faridkot Central Jail and a few hours later, he allegedly killed Gurpreet Singh.
Bilal and two other alleged assailants have been identified as Gurmandeep Singh alias Pontu and Arshdeep Singh alias Jhandu, residents of Hari Nau village. On September 1, Kotkapura police in Faridkot had arrested two Army jawans, including Bilal Ahmad, for the alleged offence of running an extortion racket.
