Rain alert for Tamil Nadu for the next few days.

Tamil Nadu: The Chennai Meteorological Department has issued a significant weather alert for the state. According to the department, there is a possibility of rainfall in eight districts of Tamil Nadu within the next two hours. Furthermore, a major shift in weather patterns is expected across several parts of the state in the coming days.
The Meteorological Department has reported that a low-pressure area is currently active, extending from Western Rajasthan all the way to Kanyakumari. This weather system is tracking across Eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Rayalaseema, and Interior Tamil Nadu. Consequently, cloud activity has intensified across several South Indian states, creating conditions conducive to rainfall.
As a result, moderate rainfall is likely in various parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from Sunday (May 3) through May 8. The Meteorological Department has also indicated that some locations within these regions may experience rain accompanied by strong winds. Weather conditions are expected to remain unstable due to increased wind speeds and rainfall.
Specifically, heavy rainfall has been forecast for certain districts on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, isolated instances of heavy rain may occur in the hilly tracts of Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts. Additionally, there is a possibility of intense rainfall in scattered locations across Theni and Dindigul districts.
The Chennai Meteorological Department has advised the public to remain vigilant, particularly in areas where heavy rainfall is anticipated. Residents of hilly regions have been urged to exercise caution to mitigate risks associated with potential landslides or waterlogging.
Weather experts note that this low-pressure area remains active, suggesting that rainfall activity may persist for the next few days. As a result of this influence, a slight dip in daytime temperatures may be observed, making the weather feel relatively cooler.
The Meteorological Department has also advised fishermen against venturing into the sea, as there remains a possibility of strong winds and high waves. Furthermore, the general public has been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and to keep a close watch on weather updates. Overall, the weather in Tamil Nadu and surrounding regions is likely to remain active over the next few days, with the impact of rain and strong winds expected to be felt across several districts.
