Raipur: City residents upset due to lack of water supply in these areas

Raipur. Today is a festival day but the water supply of the corporation has come to a standstill in large parts of the capital. Thousands of taps did not open on Sunday morning. People are in distress in the areas of Maitri Nagar, Sundar Nagar, Dangania. Earlier, the taps were not opened even on the day of Dhan Teras.

There was only nominal water supply the day before yesterday and yesterday evening in about half a dozen wards connected to the Danganiya tank. And this morning the taps are not even open. This situation persists due to lack of power supply in the filter plant. Due to lack of coordination between the two agencies of the government, the city residents are having to bear the brunt. The Mayor and Chairman of the Water Working Committee are busy in election politics while the corporation officers are preparing for voting. People are running to neighbors’ houses for one bucket of water.
