Raj Kundra on his first film ‘UT 69’ said, wanted to relive the jail experiences

New Delhi: Businessman Raj Kundra, who is surrounded by controversies for creating obscene content, is all set for the release of his film ‘UT 69’. Raj Kundra told how he wanted to relive the entire experience of his days in jail.

The film’s trailer offers a perspective on Kundra’s life, highlighting the 63 days he spent in Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail during his trial. The film, a witty dark comedy, brilliantly depicts the hardships, challenges and unexpected friendships faced by Raj in prison.

Speaking to IANS, Raj opened up about the shooting of the film, the controversies and the impact it had on him during his acting debut.

“I wanted to relive it because I wanted a break from it,” he said. I could not find any end to this dispute. When I came out I was upset, worried, I was not feeling good at all.”

He said, “I was going to write a book and wanted the world to see what I have gone through, but director Shahnawaz Ali sir thought that it is better for people to see what you have gone through rather than reading what you have gone through.” Have gone through times. It’s always better to see. It’s like Instagram vs. Twitter. “People love Instagram because I think photos and videos sell better.”

He further shared, “When we made this film, I thought that somewhere this matter would be closed. But I feel that after the story comes out, maybe something good will come out of it, it will help me a bit. I don’t know what will happen, but a lot can happen.”

How did he adapt controversies on screen?

Raj said, “We don’t talk about controversies. We talk about our time inside Arthur Road Jail. This is the story of how we spent 63 days in the harshest conditions in one of the most overcrowded prisons in the world, from entering the Red Gate to exiting.

He said, “We did not discuss the matter at all because the matter is sub-judice and it is still in the court. The legal battle is going on, but a lot of interesting, fascinating, controversial things happened inside the jail.

Talking about the beginning of his acting career, Raj said, “I was happy producing behind the camera. I think this is the strong belief of Shahnawaz sir. He believed that the true story should be told by the person who has actually gone through it.

He said, “You have been through it Raj, you tell the story your way. I will get you acting. You don’t need to wear make-up or act like anyone, it will just be about you.’

He said, “I think this is the first time that a true story is being told by the person to whom it actually happened. For me I found that interesting. I like challenges, I have gone through a lot of challenges in my life.”

Raj said, “I tell people, forget the matter for a minute, keep the matter aside, watch it in content form, you will fall in love with the film, it is so beautiful. When Shilpa saw the film she loved it so much, AA decided to be the presenter, then this gave us confidence that a lot of people are connecting with the film and liking it. Content is paramount, and we have an amazing story to tell.”

This film is going to be released in theaters on November 3.
