Rajasthan: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma received death threat from jail inmate

Officials said on Thursday that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has received a death threat from a prisoner lodged inside a jail here. Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham said immediate action was taken and two employees of Central Jail, Jaipur were suspended and a case was registered against them. According to officials, action was taken against the duo for failing to stop smuggling of mobile phones inside the jail. Bedham said that to ensure that such incidents do not happen again, a mobile phone search operation will be conducted inside all the jails soon. The prisoner, who has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, called the police control room from a mobile phone on Wednesday and threatened to kill Sharma, officials said. He told that the location of the call was found to be Central Jail, Jaipur.
