Rajasthan police arrested the kingpin of the ‘6161 gang’ from a flat in Gurugram.

Gurugram: Rajasthan Police have arrested Pradeep Gurjar, the kingpin of the notorious ‘6161 Gang’—associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang—who was hiding in a female friend’s flat in Sector 77 here. Following a tip-off, the Rajasthan Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​laid a trap, and a head constable guarded the society’s gate for three days to track the gangster. He was arrested last night and taken to Rajasthan. The accused carried a reward of ₹25,000 and has several criminal cases registered against him.
The AGTF had been active for several days to apprehend Gurjar. After receiving information that he was hiding in his friend’s flat, a team led by ASP Siddhant Sharma and Inspector Ram Singh was formed, who scanned CCTV footage and deployed Head Constable Sudhir Kumar as a guard at the society. A senior AGFT police officer stated that Gurjar, a resident of Rawat Ki Dhani in Kotputli, Rajasthan, was the leader of the ‘6161 Gang,’ which extorted money from hotel owners on the highway. The gang originated in Bhilwara with Hari Tanwar. Later, its leadership passed to Vinod Mandali, and after his murder, to Gurjar.
Gurjar, who was also an active link to gangster Lawrence’s associate Sachin Thapan, has more than three dozen cases registered against him for crimes such as bank robbery, dacoity, and murder. The police officer said, “The accused recruited young men from Kotputli, Behror, Bansur, Bhilwara, and Gurugram into his gang. The friend whose flat he was hiding in is also from Rajasthan. The accused is being taken to Kotputli for questioning.”
