Rakul Preet’s mother-in-law gives clarity on financial issues
It is known that Rakul Preet Singh, who has acted with all the top heroes in Tollywood and earned a star image, shifted to Bollywood due to a series of flops. She fell in love with Bollywood producer Jackie Bhagnani and married him. However, news has been doing the rounds for the past few days that Rakul, who got married, and their production house have been in financial trouble as soon as they entered the industry. The big budget action film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ starring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and Jackie Shroff in the lead roles was a huge flop at the box office. Made with a huge budget of around ₹350 crore, the film could not even collect Rs.100 crore gross.
Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the villain and Manushi Chillar plays the heroine in this movie, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The news that Jackie Bhagnani’s company ‘Pooja Entertainment’ is being closed down due to huge losses shocked everyone. Various stories have gone viral that newly married Rakul has also been forced to sell her assets due to this. However, Rakul Preet Singh has recently responded to these rumors and clarified. Denouncing the fake news spreading on social media, Rakul said, “In the age of social media, bad news spreads faster than good. Sensational news is turned into breaking news without knowing the truth. It is true that there is some financial pressure as a series of projects have disappointed at the box office… but there is nothing like closing down Pooja Entertainment.”
Rakul said that such situations are normal in the film industry, recalling the times when even giants like Amitabh Bachchan faced financial problems in their careers. Meanwhile, news that Pooja Entertainment is trying to sell its Mumbai office for ₹250 crore and has also reduced the number of employees has also made waves on social media. However, Rakul completely denied these news. Before ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, the films ‘Ganpath’, ‘Mission Raniganj’ and ‘Bell Bottom’ that came under this banner also suffered huge losses. Recently, Rakul Preet acted in the film ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ with Ajay Devgn. The film also featured R Madhavan, Javed Jaffrey and Gautami Kapoor in important roles.
