Villupuram: Regarding PMK founder Dr. S. Ramadoss’s decision to retire from politics, party president Anbumani Ramadoss stated that it is his personal decision, which the party respects. He clarified that politics is a field where one does not simply take a complete break. Even if Dr. Ramadoss decides to step away from active politics, his experience, ideas, and guidance will always remain vital to the party. He affirmed that the party would continue to function according to his guidelines in the future.
Anbumani Ramadoss made these remarks while speaking to reporters after attending the birthday celebrations of PMK founder Dr. S. Ramadoss, held on Saturday at a private college in Konerikuppam, near Tindivanam in Villupuram district. A large number of senior party leaders, cadres, and supporters were present on the occasion. During the event, Dr. Ramadoss was extended best wishes, and his social and political contributions were acknowledged.
When asked by journalists about Dr. Ramadoss’s decision to retire from politics, Anbumani Ramadoss reiterated that it was entirely his personal choice. He stated that every individual has the right to make significant life decisions, and the party respects his decision. However, he added that experienced political leaders do not completely disengage, and their guidance remains available to the organization.
Anbumani noted that Dr. Ramadoss has steadfastly championed issues such as social justice, education, health, and rural development for decades. Under his leadership, the party carved a distinct identity in Tamil Nadu politics. He emphasized that the founder’s experience and ideology are the party’s greatest strengths, and the organization will continue to move forward in that same direction.
He further stated that the PMK’s core objectives are social equality, the expansion of education, youth empowerment, and the protection of farmers’ interests. He expressed confidence that the party cadres would work together to further strengthen the organization. During the birthday celebrations, numerous leaders praised Dr. Ramadoss’s long public career and his contributions.
