Rameshwaram: Fishing boat caught fire

Ramanathapuram: A Collins fishing boat anchored at Pamban in Rameshwaram caught fire on Sunday morning.

According to sources, more than a hundred fishing boats were anchored at Pampan Harbor on Rameshwaram Island when the fire broke out.

As soon as the boat caught fire, some fishermen reached the spot and extinguished the fire. However, the boat worth Rs 90 lakh was completely burnt to ashes in the fire.

Initial reports suggest that the fire may have been caused by electrical leakage. Police have started investigation and more details are awaited.
