‘Ramotsav’ programs will start in UP from December

In the period before the ceremony of consecration of the Ram temple, the events will begin this month, while the mega functions will begin on Makar Sankranti on 14 and 15 January of next year and will continue till the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. 22nd January. The Yogi Adityanath government has allocated 100 million rupees for ‘Ramotsav’, a series of religious events in the temples of 826 local bodies in Uttar Pradesh and Ram Paduka Yatra. The journey will traverse the Camino Ram Van Gaman taken by Lord Ram while continuing his 14-year exile from Ayodhya and will cover the entire country. They will lead continuous recitals of Ramcharitmanas, Ramayana and Hanuman Chalisa in temples associated with the “Ramayana tradition”. According to a government spokesperson, “the plan is to connect every district and every prominent temple of the state with the ceremony ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla and convert the entire state into ‘Ram-Mai'”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. The department of tourism and culture of the government of Uttar Pradesh is organizing the event with the help of the council of tourism and culture of each district. The UP government has also planned a series of events in public schools. These will include art, writing essays, distraction competitions and religious songs based on Ramayan. They will also organize workshops on how to make idols of Lord Ram. Also previewed is an exhibition of Ram Katha through a projection map and a show of dragons in Ayodhya, as well as an aquatic laser show in the river Saryu, which represents various events of Ramayan. The government of UP approved a proposal to improve the Institute of Investigation Ayodhya, established on August 18, 1986. Now, there will be the International Institute of Investigation Vedic and Ramayan for which the state government approved a budget of 5,72 million rupees. The project will be executed by the department of culture. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has decided to distribute the sacred rice (Akshata), offered to the deities in Ram Janmabhoomi, in 500,000 temples and as many villages across the country before the consecration ceremony scheduled for January 22. “Unos 100 volunteers and VHP officials received a jar of 5.25 kg of sacred rice in Ayodhya on November 5”, said Sharad Sharma, regional spokesperson of the VHP. After the Vedic rituals, it will be distributed from 1st January and the campaign will end on 15th January.
