Ranji Trophy: Tripura beats Goa by 237 runs
Tripura started this year’s Ranji campaign with an impressive win at home by defeating Goa by a huge margin of 237 runs.
In the Ranji Trophy match between Tripura vs Goa at MBB Stadium, Tripura defeated Goa in both the ball and bat categories.
In this match, Tripura started getting the smell of victory on Sunday itself. Tripura sealed the victory by all-out Goa in the second innings on Monday.
Tripura set a huge target of 501 runs for Goa to win. Goa started the fourth day’s play on Monday with 48 runs for 3 wickets in the second innings.
However, Goa batsmen could not win or draw the match against the Tripura team captained by Wriddhiman Saha.
Goa’s wicketkeeper batsman Krishnamurthy Siddharth tried to create some resistance by scoring a century. Although he remained unbeaten after scoring 151 runs, he did not get the support of the rest of the batsmen of the team.
Manishankar Murasingh and Rana Dutt took 3-3 wickets for Tripura in the second innings. Abhijeet Sarkar also got two wickets.
Tripura’s Shridam Pal was adjudged the player of the match.
