Police arrested 2 accused who called father and demanded levy of 20 lakhs
Jashpur. The police have arrested two accused who called Rahul Yadav’s father, who was posted as an engineer in the PHE department, demanding a levy of Rs 20 lakh. The accused had called and asked for 20 lakhs. Had threatened to destroy the whole family if not given. The Jashpur police arrested both the accused from a Naxal-affected village in Jharkhand. Many serious cases like robbery, dacoity, arson have been registered on both. In fact, on July 23, Fikro Ram Yadav lodged a report at Kunkuri police station that he received a call from an unknown mobile number and said that your son Rahul Yadav is working as a sub-engineer in the PHE department in Kunkuri. He is a great engineer, deposit 20 lakh rupees, otherwise he will kill the whole family.
On this report, a crime was registered under crime number 102/2023 section 384, 506, 120B Bhadvi in police station Kunkuri. A special team was formed to arrest the accused under the guidance of IG Raigarh Range Ramgopal Garg (I.P.S.), SSP D.Ravi Shankar, ASP Umesh Kashyap and under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Kunkuri Sandeep Mittal. Traced the cyber cell phone and number and got information that Suraj Yadav, a person from village Gadijor of Kurdeg area of Jharkhand state, had bought the said phone from Arshal Hussain of Kurdeg. Raid action was taken at Suraj Yadav’s house in Gadijor. The phone used in the incident was seized. During interrogation, he was told that his accomplice Prahlad Singh had demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh from engineer Utpal Yadav by inserting a SIM card in his phone from his number. Prahlad Singh’s village Japkakona was raided with heavy force by the Kunkuri police and he was interrogated.
