Man arrested with 263 gram of brown sugar in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: A team of the Special Task Force (STF), Bhubaneswar, conducted a raid in Air Field Police Station area on Tuesday and arrested a man with 263 gram of brown sugar.
On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by a team of STF, Bhubaneswar on Labangiri-Panchagoan road under Air Field Police Station of Bhubaneswar UPD this morning against illegal dealing/ possession of Narcotic Drugs.
During the raid, the STF officials apprehended one drug peddler whom they identified as Jyotikrishna Samantray of Bomikhal village under Laxmisagar police station limits of Khurda district.
During search contraband brown sugar (heroin) weighing 263 gram and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from his possession. The approximate market price of the contraband is said to be over Rs 26 lakh.
The accused person was arrested as he could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials. He will be forwarded to the court of District Judge cum Spl. Judge, Khurda at Bhubaneswar.
In this connection STF PS Case No.10 dated 06.05.2025 U/s 21(c) of NDPS Act 1985 was registered. Investigation is on.
