Reliance will start solar PV module factory this year

Business Business: Reliance Industries will start its solar photovoltaic (PV) module factory this year. This information was given by Partha S. Maitra, President, Strategy and Initiatives Department of the company.

India has set a target of achieving 500 gigawatts of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030, but for this, work will have to be done at twice the current rate. This initiative of Reliance is considered important in this direction.

The company will also start battery and micro power electronics manufacturing plant by next year. If the plans are completed on time, Reliance can become the world’s second largest solar module manufacturer, which alone will produce about 14% of the total global production outside China.
