Rental car crashes into chapel wall

In one more accident involving tourists, a speeding rent-a-car crashed into the compound wall of St Anthony’s chapel at Praiswaddo, Anjuna early on Saturday morning. No one was hurt in the incident.

According to locals the unidentified driver was heading to the beach and instead of taking a left, took the road on the right, before realising his mistake and attempting to turn left, only to crash into the compound wall of the chapel, bringing down a large part of the wall constructed with laterite stones. The driver was allegedly in an intoxicated state.
