A polling booth in Karaikal is attracting people

Tamil Nadu: Voting is underway in Karaikal district for the Puducherry Assembly elections.
Karakikal district comprises five assembly constituencies: Karaikal North, Karaikal South, Neeravi-Thirupattinam, Thirunallar, and Nedungadu. A total of 181 polling booths were set up in the district for the assembly elections, and electronic voting machines and VVPAT machines were delivered to all booths on Wednesday.
Voters have been standing in long queues at all polling stations across the district since 7 a.m. today (April 9) to register their votes. The Election Commission has advised that those without voter ID cards can vote by presenting one of 12 other documents, as per the Election Commission’s instructions.
Accordingly, voters should bring the correct documents to the polling stations in their respective areas and cast their votes.
Special polling booths have been set up in Karaikal district to attract people and increase voter turnout.
As per the order of the Election Commission, special green coloured polling booths, pink coloured polling booths and women-only polling booths have been created in many constituencies.
