RERA issues clarification on rules related to colony-flat maintenance charges

Raipur. Raipur. Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has issued a clarification of the rules related to the transfer of colonies and flats and maintenance charges. Under this, after the construction of any colony or flat, it is transferred to a registered society, which is responsible for its maintenance and facilities. The authority clarified that it is mandatory for every allotted person (allottee) to pay the prescribed maintenance charge.

If an allotted person does not pay it, the concerned society can present the matter before RERA. In such cases, the outstanding amount will have to be paid along with interest. Apart from this, if an allotted person violates the maintenance charge or other conditions prescribed in his allotment deed, RERA will have the right to hear the disputes related to it. However, cases related to change in the rates of maintenance charge will be heard under the Cooperative Act.
