Restaurant in Railway Coach

Raipur: Keeping in mind the wide reach and importance of Railways, with the aim of popularizing local products across the country, local textiles, handicrafts, clay products, handloom, bamboo products, forest produce etc. are being promoted at various stations of South East Central Railway. Has been planned. With the aim of providing a better platform to local products, this arrangement is being made available to local products for 15-15 days with a nominal fee.

In this series, about 31 stalls have been set up in 27 stations of the “One Station One Product” scheme in South East Central Railway, in which the sale of locally manufactured and famous goods has been started. These stations include 10 stations under Bilaspur Railway Division – Bilaspur, Anuppur, Champa, Korba, Pendraroad, Raigarh, Shahdol, Sakti, Naila, Uslapur, 6 stations under Raipur Railway Division – Raipur, Durg, Bhilai Power House, Maroda, Dallirajhara. , Bhatapara, Nagpur Railway Division includes 11 stations – Itwari, Gondia, Nainpur, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Tumsar Road, Bhandara Road, Balaghat, Kamptee, Ghansaur and Chhindwara stations.

Through the artefacts and goods available in these stalls, travelers are becoming familiar with the unique artworks made by local artisans and are also purchasing them as per their need and praising their workmanship. Under this scheme, Railways will develop efficient logistics for small farmers and enterprises. Each railway station can be seen as a promotion center for a local product. This will help in developing more efficiency for farmers and agriculture and its allied enterprises and will offer unique regional products to the wider audience, i.e. railway passengers passing through the stations. Its objective is to improve the supply chain of local produce by using railways.

For this, the kiosk stall has been constructed by the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Railways will install kiosks at the station at its own expense. The producer will be given a kiosk for fifteen days. This will be the first time in the history of Railways that applications are being made by people for setting up kiosks. The structure of the kiosk will be provided by the Railways, while those who are allotted it will be able to keep the goods and sell them. The most important thing is that this scheme is directly for the primary producers.

Under One Station-One Product, local artists will be allowed to showcase their products at the station in just 15 days. After this other artists will get a chance. Railways require two products in a month and 24 products in a year for one station. In such a situation, not just one or two but many local products are being made available at this stall. With this innovative initiative of “One Station One Product” scheme, while the dream of Make in India is coming true, it is also increasing the income of local small-scale artisans, artisans, handicrafts and is also helping in giving global recognition to local products. And the travelers are providing their invaluable support in providing employment to the workers engaged in this work by purchasing these local indigenous goods.
