Retired police officer Dinesh Sharma committed suicide by shooting

Lucknow (IANS) | Retired IPS Dinesh Sharma shot himself with a licensed revolver on Tuesday in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow. It is being told that he was in depression. A suicide note has also been found from the spot. Where he has called himself responsible for his death. Joint Police Commissioner Crime Nilabja Chowdhary said that former police officer Dinesh Sharma suddenly shot from his room at his residence in Gomti Nagar on Tuesday. The reasons are being ascertained now. The post mortem of the body is being done. The entire matter is being investigated.

Locals told that there was a loud sound of firing from their residence. After this, the relatives reached his room, where he was found soaked in blood. In a hurry, he was taken to the hospital and the police were also informed about it.

Police have recovered the suicide note from the spot. Although the reasons for the suicide have not been disclosed yet. Such suicide of a person who was an IPS officer is being considered as a shocking step.

According to the information received from the local people, he was suffering from depression for the last several days. He was also undergoing treatment for depression.
