Road jam in Bilaspur-Raipur National Highway, police accused of illegal extortion

Bilaspur. Today people’s anger flared up in Bilaspur against illegal extortion by police. Angry people blocked the road on Bilaspur Raipur National Highway. During this time, angry protesters took to the road near Tifra vegetable market on the highway and raised slogans against the illegal recovery by the police. Due to Chakkajam, there was a long jam on Bilaspur Raipur Highway. There was a long queue of vehicles on both sides of the road.

In fact, the protesters allege that people are being continuously harassed in the name of vehicle checking. Police is making illegal recovery. Despite having valid documents, money is being recovered from vehicle owners and drivers. During this time, policemen are resorting to illegal extortion and misbehavior by threatening to take action. The protesters have also warned of further violent agitation if illegal recovery is not stopped.
