New Delhi: A scrap dealer was beaten and then robbed by three men using jiu-jitsu chokehold (Brazilian martial art) in West Delhi. A police officer said on Wednesday that two accused have been arrested.
This entire incident was also captured in the CCTV camera installed nearby. The video is also going viral on social media. In the video, all three people can be seen talking to the scrap dealer. Soon after, one of them used a jiu-jitsu technique called a ‘rear naked choke’. This technique rapidly cuts off the flow of oxygen and blood to the brain, usually causing the opponent to lose consciousness within seconds.
Once the scrap dealer became unconscious, another member of the group snatched the money from his hand and quickly fled from the spot. The footage also records the scrap dealer regaining consciousness. According to the police, it came to the notice of Hari Nagar police station staff that an incident of robbery by strangulating the victim had taken place near Fateh Nagar Gurudwara on Monday evening.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said that a CCTV footage of the incident was also shown to the local police by the informant. The local police station team examined other CCTV footage of the area. The victim was identified as Sanjay (32). He further said that now his statement has been recorded. FIR has been registered under section 392/34 of the Indian Penal Code. According to his statement, Rs 3,200 was looted from him. Two accused named Vikas and Sahil have been caught and the third accused will also be caught soon.
