Four-year-old murder case solved in Agarguda, two arrested

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: District police have solved the mystery behind the suspicious death of a young man from Agarguda four years ago. Two people, including a woman, have been arrested. Another wanted individual is absconding.
District Superintendent of Police Nitika Pant stated that the arrested individuals, Konduri Malleswari, a cook at the BC Welfare Hostel, and Chennuri Tirupati of Agarguda, were detained for their involvement in the murder of Vemula Sagar (17). Sagar’s body was found under suspicious circumstances near Gundi village in Asifabad Mandal on March 29, 2022.
A special team formed by Superintendent of Police Nitika Pant solved the mystery behind the suspicious death and determined it was a murder. With the help of technology, the team, comprising Inspector Balaji Varaprasad, Santosh Kumar, Sridhar, and Constable Mahesh, took the two men into custody.
During interrogation, Malleswari confessed to killing him with the help of two men. He said he killed the boy because he was talking to his daughter and they had a disagreement. He confessed to strangling him after taking him to Gundi in an auto-rickshaw. The three then burned the body to destroy the evidence.
TT published several reports
When the police failed to make any progress in the case, several reports appeared in these columns. One report stated that the boy’s death in April 2022 was shrouded in mystery, and another stated that in May of that year, when the police found no clues in the case, they would conduct polygraph tests on the suspects. It took four years for the police to solve the mystery and determine the involvement of the three men.
Enclosing a copy of the report, Mondakka approached the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) in 2022, demanding justice. He expressed happiness over the arrest of the two men.
