Rohit and Kohli’s salaries cut by Rs 2 crore!

It is known that the BCCI pays salaries to cricketers in various categories every year. However, the highest salary is paid to cricketers in the A+ list, which is Rs 7 crore. The list of players under central contract will be released in April 2025. The list of contract players for the coming year will also be released soon. There is a possibility of an impact on famous cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who are getting salaries in the A+ category. Currently, those two top cricketers have avoided Tests and T20s. They are playing only ODIs. This is likely to lead to changes in the categories in the central contract.
The BCCI pays salaries to cricketers according to four categories. The highest salaries are received by players in the A+ category. Then there are cricketers in the A, B, and C categories. Currently, Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in the A+ category. But since they have been away from Tests and T20s recently, there is a possibility that the grading of those cricketers will decrease. There is a possibility that both of them will enter the A category from the A+ category. It is estimated that due to that demotion, there is a possibility of a cut of two crores in their salaries each. Players under contract are paid regardless of the number of matches they play. However, they are paid a match fee in addition to their salary.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja recently announced his retirement from T20 cricket. But he is in the Test team. With this, there are chances that he will continue in the A+ category. While the A+ contract list players are given a salary of seven crores, the A category players are given only 5 crores.
