Rs 6 lakh outstanding property tax recovered from Sun Marriage Palace

Bhilai Nagar. The outstanding property tax amount was not being deposited by Sun Marriage Palace Kailash Nagar Kurud. Even after giving notice, the property tax was not deposited. An attachment warrant was issued by Commissioner Bajrang Dubey to deposit the outstanding property tax amount of Rs 1170240.00 under subsection 1 of section 175 of the Municipal Corporation Act 1956. Earlier, demand letters were given on it under subsection 1 of section 174. In which a notice was given to pay the amount within 30 days.

It should be noted that after the issuance of the attachment warrant, if the amount is not deposited by the property taxpayer, then action is taken under section 178 for recovery by confiscation of movable and immovable property or by attachment or sale of its immovable property. All the expenses of recovery are also taken from the property taxpayer.

Today, Zone Revenue Officer Jagdish Tiwari appeared at the marriage venue with his team for attachment. During the attachment, the founder of Sun Marriage Palace, Subrata, expressed his inability to pay the full amount. A cheque of Rs. 6 lakhs was given in lieu of Rs. 1170240.00. An assurance was given to deposit the remaining amount soon. Considering the compulsion, a few days’ time was given. If the amount is not deposited within the assurance date, action will be taken again.
