‘Run for Unity’ organized in Odisha’s Cuttack on National Unity Day
Cuttack: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a ‘Run for Unity’ program has been organised in Odisha’s Cuttack. The event is to witness the participation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
A large crowd is expected at the event. People from different fields, including college students and youth organizations have actively taken part in the ‘Run for Unity’ event organized in Cuttack.
The run to honor the iron man of India will commence from Subhash Chandra Bose’s statue near Ravenshaw University in College Square of Cuttack.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was an Indian barrister and statesman, one of the leaders of the Indian National Congress during the struggle for Indian independence. During the first three years of Indian independence after 1947, he served as deputy prime minister, minister of home affairs, minister of information, and minister of states.
He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1991. His birthday (October 31st) is celebrated as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ (National Unity Day).
