Sameer Wankhede gets a slap in the face.. High Court dismisses ‘The Bads of Bollywood’ petition

Former zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau Sameer Wankhede has faced a setback in the Delhi High Court. It is known that Sameer Wankhede had approached the court, alleging that the web series ‘The Bads of Bollywood’, directed by Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, reflected his personal life and was tarnishing his reputation. However, the court dismissed the defamation suit filed by Wankhede.
Sameer Wankhede had filed a case against Shah Rukh Khan and Red Chillies Entertainment, alleging that his character was wrongly portrayed in the series and that his reputation was damaged. In his petition, he sought Rs 2 crore as compensation. However, the court, which did not agree with these arguments, recently dismissed the case, which seems to have come as a big relief to the producers of the series.
The series has been embroiled in several controversies since its release in September last year. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) had earlier taken action against actor Ranbir Kapoor for allegedly violating the Electronic Cigarette Prohibition Act. In fact, Sameer Wankhede’s role as an officer in the Aryan Khan drug case and the subsequent developments have made it important for him to approach the court over the series. The latest verdict seems to have put an end to this controversy for now.
