Saumya Chaurasia has illegal assets worth Rs 50 crore, EOW reveals in challan

Raipur. The EOW has filed another charge sheet against suspended RPSC officer Soumya Chaurasia. Presented in a special court, the EOW accuses Soumya of amassing assets disproportionate to her income. In this 10,000-page invoice, the Bureau has disclosed assets worth 50 crore rupees. Soumya has created 45 benami properties from this income.

Soumya Chaurasia, who was the Deputy Secretary to former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, was arrested first by the ED and then by the EOW in the 450 crore coal levy money laundering case. After spending nearly two years in jail, Soumya Chaurasia was released on bail just three months ago. Following the Supreme Court’s directive, Soumya Chaurasia is living outside Chhattisgarh in Bengaluru and appears in court from there.
