Scooty driver arrested with Mahua liquor
Raigarh: Chakradharnagar police, on the basis of information from an informer, conducted a liquor raid and caught Raju Lakda, father Salik Ram, age 46 years, resident of Bangurasia Bade Jharia, Police Station Chakradharnagar, District Raigarh, who was illegally transporting liquor on a scooter in village Bangurasia.
Police station in-charge Chakradharnagar Inspector Prashant Rao Aher had received information from an informer that Raju Lakda of village Bangurasia is bringing a large quantity of Mahua liquor to Raigarh in his Activa scooter number CG 13-AV-6874 for illegal sale.
In the raid, 10 liter capacity plastic jerrycan and 2-liter plastic bottles, totaling 26 liters of Mahua liquor worth Rs 2,600/- were recovered from the possession of the accused and the Activa scooter number CG 13-AV-6874 used in transportation was seized. Action has been taken against the accused under Section 34(2), 59(a) of the Excise Act at Chakradharnagar Police Station. Head constable Suman Chauhan, constable Abhay Yadav and Chandra Kumar Banjare were involved in the liquor raid.
