Scrap goods worth Rs 17 lakh seized, driver and helper arrested along with truck
Mahasamund. The truck driver and helper have been arrested with scrap goods worth Rs 17 lakh. Police had received information from the informer that scrap goods were coming illegally from Orissa state towards Basna in Tata 1109 vehicle number CG04JD7651.
On which the police station in-charge along with the team surrounded and caught the said vehicle. On asking the name and address of the driver, the driver gave his name as Pyari Lal Sahu, father Duryodhan Sahu, age 37 years, S.
Dhumabhata, Police Station Jagdalpur (Orissa) and on asking the name of the person sitting next to the driver’s seat, his name was Jogeshwar Manjhi, father Dharnidhar Manjhi, Age 19 years, resident of Saraikela, Shana Jagdalpur, District Bargarh (Orissa).
When asked what was there in the vehicle, it was said that there were iron angles, rods, rods, pipes, iron plates, iron for boring parts of vehicles and various types of iron and tin’s kavadi items in the shed behind the vehicle. Investigation revealed that there were no documents. The entire action has been taken by Basna police station.
