Seafarers connect will foster better networking

The Directorate General of Shipping’s ‘Seafarers Connect: Hum Saath Saath Hain’ programme will be held in collaboration with seafarers’ unions in maritime coastal states and Union Territories. Goan Seamen Association of India (GSAI) president Frank Viegas said that the pioneering programme will foster connections, provide a support network, and address key issues concerning the seafaring community who are the backbone of the maritime industry. The event to be held on February 3 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao at 10 am will bring together seafarers from various ranks allowing them to engage in meaningful conversations. “Recognising the challenges faced by seafarers in their demanding profession, this event seeks to provide a platform for seafarers to come together,” said Viegas.
