Section 144 imposed in Punjab after Imran Khan’s arrest
Islamabad (IANS). Section 144 has been imposed in various districts of Pakistan’s Punjab province for seven days following the arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan, while several PTI supporters have been detained. Local media gave this information.
As per the official notification – gatherings, public meetings, demonstrations, dharnas and rallies have been banned in Kasur, Jhelum, Mianwali, Mandi Bahauddin and Rawalpindi districts for 7 days, reports ARY News.
The PTI chief was arrested on Saturday from his Zaman Park residence after he was sentenced to three years in jail by the district and sessions court in the Toshakhana case. According to the Dawn report, PTI had called for a peaceful protest after the arrest of Imran Khan.
According to reports, several of his supporters protesting against the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan have been arrested.
