Sentenced to 20 years for raping a minor student
Haldwani. By hiding the fact of marriage and being the father of two children, the rapist trapped the minor student in the trap of love and continued raping her for years. When it was revealed, the victim filed a case and now the court sentenced the rapist to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 41,000. The court has acquitted the mother of the rapist posted in the Home Guard.
ADGC Criminal Navinchandra Joshi, who is defending the case on behalf of the victim, said, in 2015 the victim was a student of 11th class. In the year 2015, during the annual function of the school, the victim met Arun Gadiya, son of late Man Singh Gadiya, resident of Gulzarpur Banki Kaladhungi, through her friend. He was married and the father of two children, but he hid this from the victim and trapped her in love.
Gifted him the phone and one day reached his school by car. He took her to Mukhani from where he raped her. In the year 2016, he took her to Nainital and raped her after giving her cold drinks and kept promising her marriage. When the girl reached home late that night, her family members reprimanded her. In the early morning she talked to Arun and Arun ran away with her. When a complaint was lodged at Mukhani police station, he handed over the girl.
The family first sent the girl to a relative’s house in Uttar Pradesh and then to her maternal grandparents’ house, but Arun did not give up. He brought him from both the places and handed him over again after the intervention of the police. After this he again took her to his home. When the victim reached Kaladhungi, it was found that his wife and two children were there. She remained imprisoned here for about a year, then contacted a neighbor and reached Vande Mataram Group.
In the year 2021, the group rescued him and reached the police station. After which a case was registered against Ganesh and his mother posted in the Home Guard. Advocate Naveen Chandra Joshi said that 8 witnesses were presented in the case. On the basis of which the rapist was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 41 thousand. Whereas the mother of the rapist has been acquitted in the case. The rapist has been in jail since 2021 and has come out on parole a few times.
