Kolkata: Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi became the fastest bowler to take 100 ODI wickets when he took the first wicket during the Cricket World Cup 2023 league match against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old player achieved this feat in 51 matches and left behind Australia’s Mitchell Starc’s record of 52 ODI matches.

He also became the fastest Pakistani bowler to take 100 ODI wickets, surpassing the record of Saqlain Mushtaq, who took wickets in 53 matches.
