Shooter who killed BJP leader arrested
Kanker. Police has arrested shooter Vikas Talukdar, who shot BJP District Vice President and former Nagar Panchayat President Asim Rai in Pakhanjur. The shooter was absconding after committing the crime. Police have arrested accused Vikas from Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. The pistol used in the murder has also been recovered from his possession. However, the police have not yet disclosed this matter.
Police had arrested 11 accused in the murder case of BJP District Vice President Aseem Rai. The main shooter Vikas Talukdar was absconding and was arrested by the police from Maharashtra today. While disclosing the matter on Friday, SP Divyang Patel had said that Nagar Panchayat President Bappa Ganguly, Councilor Vikas Pal, Jitendra Bairagi had given a betel nut for Rs 7 lakh to kill the BJP District Vice President.
The no-confidence motion in the Nagar Panchayat is being said to be the reason for the murder. The youth who shot at Aseem Rai in 2014 is also involved in this murder case. During the press conference on Friday regarding this matter, BJP workers created a ruckus outside the police station and raised slogans demanding hanging of the culprits.
