Show cause notice issued to BJP district president
Bilaspur: Show cause notice has been issued to Bilaspur BJP District President and Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition Councilor Ashok Vidhani for violating the Model Code of Conduct applicable for the Assembly elections. Returning Officer Bilaspur Dr. Subhash Singh Raj has issued notice to both of them on the basis of the complaint received and sought their reply within 24 hours.
According to the complaint, Vidhani, councilor of ward number 45 of the corporation, is filling the form related to Mahtari Vandan Yojana from his brother Raju Vidhani in the BJP office located in Hemu Nagar. It has been mentioned that women will be given assistance of Rs 12 thousand per year. In lieu of filling the form, an amount of Rs 1000 is also being given by Ashok Vidhani from the office as the first installment. It has been said in the notice that under Section 123 (2) of the Representation of the People Act 1951 and Section 171 C of the Indian Penal Code, giving such inducements in elections is a prohibited and punishable offense. Therefore, submit your clarification regarding the complaint and application format to the Returning Officer within 24 hours. Action will be taken if clarification is not submitted.
