Silkyara Rescue Operation

Uttarkashi: A press briefing was held at the Temporary Media Centre, Silkyara on Wednesday regarding the Silkyara Tunnel Rescue Operation. During this, MD (NHIDCL) Mahmood Ahmed said that 900 mm pipe was pushed inside the tunnel. At present, an 800 mm pipe has also been pushed inside the 900 mm pipe by telescopic method. Starting drilling again with the auger machine, drilling up to a total of 39 meters has been completed. He said that drilling work is being done rapidly at the remaining place.
MD (NHIDCL) Mahmood Ahmed said that horizontal drilling work had started from the Barkot end. In which the third blast has been carried out. About 8 meters of work has been completed from this location.

Secretary Uttarakhand Government, Dr. Neeraj Khairwal said that earlier there was communication through video with the workers trapped inside. Now audio communication setup has been prepared with the help of NDRF and SDRF. In which wire, microphone and speaker are being used.

Secretary, Uttarakhand Government, Dr. Neeraj Khairwal said that after the audio communication setup was ready, the workers trapped inside were first made to talk to the doctor. In this sequence, all the workers are being made to talk to the doctor one by one. And their well-being is being known. He said that essential medicines are being sent to the people trapped inside. Apart from this, basic materials like towels, brushes, small clothes are also being sent.

Secretary, Uttarakhand Government, Dr. Neeraj Khairwal said that keeping in mind the mental health of the workers, they are also being made to talk to a psychiatrist. All the workers trapped inside are safe.

During this, former advisor to the Prime Minister and Officer on Special Duty of Uttarakhand Government Bhaskar Khulbe, District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela, Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari, Commandant SDRF Manikant Mishra, Superintendent of Police Arpan Yaduvanshi were present.
